Blue Frog Scientific: Scientific and Regulatory Affairs Consultant (Biocides)

We are seeking a Scientific and Regulatory Affairs specialist to perform consultancy activities supporting Clients navigate the EU and UK regulatory challenges associated with biocidal active substance and product registrations, under the Biocidal Products Regulation (BPR).  The Consultant will also provide scientific and technical support to these projects related to their training and experience.

The successful candidate should have 3-5 years relevant experience working in industry and/or consultancy supporting biocidal active substance and product registrations in the EU and/or UK.  

The Consultant’s primary responsibilities will be as follows: 

Consultancy Duties: 

  • The Consultant will be a biocide regulatory affairs expert for the company (principally EU and UK BPR), responsible for the successful management and delivery of projects to Clients of the Company
  • The Consultant will be responsible for ensuring that Blue Frog Scientific is producing regulatory advice and deliverables based on the most current scientific principles and regulatory requirements in their area(s) of expertise
  • The Consultant will provide scientific and technical input into processes such as product characteristics, safety assessment, and dossier compilation, tailored to their scientific background and relevant experience
  • The Consultant will act as a Client Liaison Manager for relevant projects, for specified Clients, this role will involve frequent communication with the Client regarding current project status and scheduling and costing future projects
  • Training will be provided in the form of mentoring and on-the-job training, and the Consultant will be expected to develop their own skills through a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programme

Business Development: 

  • The Consultant will provide input to business development strategies supporting the future growth aspirations of the Company, relevant to their area(s) of expertise
  • The Consultant will be expected to raise the profile of the Company by joining working groups and/or associate memberships of relevant trade associations, as well as attending relevant conferences and exhibitions where presenting opportunities should be sought
  • The Consultant will be expected to generate and maintain a network of contacts in industry and develop new relationships with this network in order to generate new business for the Company

Position Details:

Start Date: From September 2024
Hours: 35 hours per week
Location: UK: Edinburgh, Swansea, or remote / France: Lyon, or remote
Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 per annum
Notice Period: 3 months
